Navim ("we," "our," or "us") is an immigration navigation platform that helps you plan your path to Canadian permanent residence. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it when you use our website, products, and services.
By using Navim, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our service.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide and information generated when you use our service.
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and any other details you provide (for example, through our authentication provider). We use Supabase for authentication and account management.
Onboarding and survey responses
To generate your immigration roadmap, we collect information you enter during onboarding, such as:
- Immigration status (e.g., international student, PGWP holder)
- Education history (level, country, and general descriptors)
- Employment history and work experience
- Citizenship and residence
- Language test scores (e.g., IELTS, CELPIP) if you choose to add them
- Province of residence or study
Roadmap data
We store the roadmaps we generate for you, including milestones, timelines, and suggested permanent residence pathways.
Chat and feedback
If you use our AI chat assistant, we store your conversations and any feedback (e.g., thumbs up/down or written feedback) to provide the feature and improve our service.
Usage and analytics
We collect information about how you use Navim, such as pages visited, actions taken, time on page, and similar usage data. We use this in anonymized or aggregated form to improve our product and understand usage patterns.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide the service — Generate and update your roadmap, run the AI chat, and personalize guidance based on your profile.
- Improve our product — Analyze usage and feedback to improve features, content, and user experience.
- Communicate with you — Send important notices about your account, service changes, or safety and security.
- Support and safety — Respond to requests, troubleshoot issues, and enforce our terms and policies.
Analytics and Cookies
We use analytics to understand how people use Navim and to improve our product. We do not use advertising cookies or sell your data for advertising.
PostHog
We use PostHog for product analytics. In line with our data practices:
- We do not send personally identifying information (such as email, full name, or exact date of birth) in analytics event properties.
- Before you sign up, we use anonymous identifiers; after signup, we may associate analytics with your user ID to understand product usage.
- We track general attributes such as immigration status, province, age range, citizenship region, and NOC code categories. We do not track specific institution names, employer names, exact job titles, or exact birth dates in analytics.

Vercel Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics for basic performance and traffic metrics (e.g., page loads, performance). For details, see Vercel's privacy policy.
Third-Party Services
Your data is processed with the help of the following types of services:
- Supabase — Authentication and database hosting. Supabase privacy policy.
- Vercel — Application hosting and analytics. Vercel privacy policy.
- PostHog — Product analytics. PostHog privacy policy.
These providers have their own privacy policies and, where applicable, data processing terms. We encourage you to review them.
Data Retention
- Account and product data — We retain your account information, roadmap data, chat history, and related content while your account is active.
- After account deletion — After you delete your account, we may retain certain data for backup, legal, or regulatory purposes for a limited period (for example, up to 90 days). After that, we delete or anonymize it where possible.
- Analytics — Analytics data is retained according to our analytics provider's retention policies.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, or to restrict or object to certain processing.
Canadian users (PIPEDA)
If you are in Canada, you generally have the right to access, correct, and delete your personal information in line with applicable law.
Other regions
If you are in a jurisdiction that provides GDPR-like rights (for example, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom), you may have additional rights, including data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

Data Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (e.g., HTTPS) and, where applicable, encryption at rest. Despite our efforts, no system or transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. For material changes, we may notify you by email or through a prominent notice in our product. Continued use of Navim after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
